چکیده

Dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) models can be realized with vehicle-based simulation approach or flow-based analytical approach. Depending on methodology, the flow-based analytical models can be further classified into mathematical programming, optimal control and variational inequality models. A brief review of the development of analytical models is given in this paper. A stochastic dynamic user optimal (SDUO) route choice model is formulated with variational inequality (VI) approach. A nested diagonalized algorithm is adopted to solve the SDUO route choice model. After relaxation method, the diagonalized subproblem, which is a nonlinear programming problem (NLP), can be solved with Method of Successive (MSA). The MSA method is consists of a LP subproblem. In order to avoid route enumeration, a dynamic variation of STOCH method is adopted to solve this multinomial logit model. A numerical example is given to verify the solution of the proposed algorithm.

Modeling Heterogeneous Risk-Taking Behavior in Route Choice: A Stochastic Dominance Approach

This paper proposes a unified approach to modeling heterogonous risk-taking behavior in route choice based on the theory of stochastic dominance (SD). Specifically, the first-, second-, and third-order stochastic dominance (FSD, SSD, TSD) are respectively linked to insatiability, risk-aversion and ruin-aversion within the framework of utility maximization. The paths that may be selected by trav...

On Calibration and Application of Logit-Based Stochastic Traffic Assignment Models

There is a growing recognition that discrete choice models are capable of providing a more realistic picture of route choice behavior. In particular, influential factors other than travel time that are found to affect the choice of route trigger the application of random utility models in the route choice literature. This paper focuses on path-based, logit-type stochastic route choice models, i...

A Multi-mode, Multi-class and Multi-criteria Dynamic Network Model with Queue for Advanced Transportation Information Systems

In this paper we propose a composite Variational Inequality formulation for modeling multi-mode, multi-class and multi-criteria stochastic dynamic user equilibrium problem in recurrent congestion network with queues. The each mode of travelers is classified into two classes. One is the equipped traveler following stochastic dynamic user-equilibrium with less uncertainty of travel cost, another ...

A Dynamic User Equilibrium Model for Traffic Assignment in Urban Areas

The growing traffic congestion in urban areas creates an urgent need for a better transportation planning. In this context, traffic assignment models can be used to help public authorities to test the impact of various transportation policies such as enlarging areas where bottleneck occurs, work start time flexbility etc. The representation of traffic variations over time allows dynamic transpo...
